Mind, Body, & Soul

Mind, Body, & Soul

Gospel-centered, trauma-informed parenting sees our children mind, body, and soul.

It meets the physical need in order to broach the spiritual need.

It acknowledges the whole person who God created and doesn't focus on only one need alone.

It recognizes that both body needs and heart needs have to be considered.

It first helps our kids' brains & bodies feel safe, so that they can hear, be changed, and comforted by the gospel.

My kids have brains & bodies that carry the effects of trauma AND are sinners in need of the forgiveness of Jesus. I see them & parent them through the lens of both.

I can’t save my kids, but I can dazzle them with the glories of the gospel—and I believe that building trust and felt safety is the best way for their hearts to be open to this glorious gospel. 🤍
