WHITNEY: ON ETHICAL ADOPTION + THE GLOBAL ORPHAN CRISIS + CONTENTMENT IN MOTHERHOOD

WHITNEY: ON ETHICAL ADOPTION + THE GLOBAL ORPHAN CRISIS + CONTENTMENT IN MOTHERHOOD

I am so excited to share this episode with you. I talk with my friend, Whitney Runyon, the adoptive mother to 3 children from the Republic of Congo and one of the Founders of The Archibald Project - which is an amazing organization that uses art and media to really shed light on the globe orphan crisis and provides ways to engage with it. We talk about ethical adoption and her wisdom and experience in this area is such a gift to us as listeners. We talk about contentment in motherhood and self-care as moms. I loved getting to connect with Whitney and just getting to sit and talk with her and glean from her wisdom was such a JOY. And I just know you’re going to enjoy listening in.

  • The intro song, The Source, is brought to you by one of the best new worship bands out there, The Evidence. Yes, the frontman is my (talented, brilliant, adorable, Jesus-loving) cousin. No, that's not why I love them.

  • Whitney is co-founder of The Archibald Project and in this episode we talk about how one of my early-blogging-days blog posts was shared by The Archibald Project and how it was such an exciting thing for me! You can find that blog post here…all the way back from May 2016.

  • Fawn and Foster is one of my very favorite baby product companies…because guess what! They have a mission to support kids in foster care by funneling 50% of all profits back into foster care initiatives. And right now Fawn and Foster is partnering with Real Mom Podcast. Use the code FOSTERFAMILY to get a discount on your next order!

  • Whitney is really into bubbly water right now and this is the amazing bubbly water that Whitney talks about in this episode - Ginger Sparkling Water. We share a love for bubbly water…I just love the cheaper, grapefruit version from Aldi.

  • Whitney shares about listening to Bridgetown Church podcasts and tells me I need to check out Leon Bridges…I did, and he’s so good! You can check him out here, too.
