God Has Good for Every Single Member of My Family

Dear my dear Mom,

I wanted to say I love you with all my heart! I have no idea what I would look like without you. I thank you for making me a Finn kid. I saw you this morning, looking so sad, and when I hugged you, I prayed. I would not know Jesus died for me if it was not for you in my life. I thank you with all my heart, mom!

My therapist called me out. She thinks I have a preoccupation with protecting my kids from being impacted by any of the hard of each other’s struggles & stories & behaviors. And especially protecting them from knowing how it all affects me.

So I’m working on letting my kids see me in my weakness & heartache. They need to know that I don’t have it all together. They need to know that I run to Jesus for comfort & help. They need to know that they can do the same.

…And, well, sometimes it’s all so much that I don’t have a choice, and they see it whether I want them to or not.

But who knew that an added bonus is that it opens me up for *them* to encourage *me* 😭😭

What a sweet reminder that God has good for every single member of my family right in the middle of the hard. 🤍
